Chart-Track sales figures show that the PS Vita has sold a less than impressive 45,000 units in the UK during its first week on sale (the figure was revealed in a report by Pocket Gamer).
As we reported yesterday, the handheld has sold 1.2 million units worldwide, but almost half of that figure is made up of Japanese sales. Software sales, both digital and retail, have now exceeded 2 million units.
The Vita's first week sales don't stand up to those of the competition. Last year the 3DS sold almost 90,000 units in its first week. Going back even further, the PSP shifted 185,000 units in its first week back in 2005.
