Double Fine's Tim Schafer, the brains behind classic titles such as Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle, is currently enjoying a successful Kickstarter campaign (the total now stands at $2,271,032 and has over 65,000 backers).

In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Schafer was quick to point out that his company's little adventure into the world of crowd-funding isn't as significant as some people have made out.

"We're still out pitching our other games. This is just one of our projects. We have four teams here," he said when asked if he'd spoken to publishers since the success of Double Fine Adventure's Kickstarter fund. "Those other teams are still out there pitching new games to publishers, and their response has always been, "Oh that's great - congratulations on that. Now let's talk about games like we always have.""

He then added: "I don't think any publishers are quaking in their boots - they're like, "Oh, two million dollars, that's cute! That's the marketing budget for the little game I'm working on." It's not a big amount of money for them. It's a big amount of money for us though."
