Inter Milan has many reasons to be happy this week. The team achieved one of the best comebacks of the year when they defeated Como in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, going from two goals down to win 3-2 and set up a final with Lazio on May 13, and this weekend they have the first "match ball" for the league title, with five matches remaining in the season.
For that, they must win on Sunday against Torino (April 26, 18:00 CEST, 17:00 BST), and hope that their only two pursuers, Napoli and AC Milan (12 points behind in the table) drop points. Napoli plays against Cremonese on Friday at 20:45 CEST: if Napoli wins, Inter's title would be delayed by at least one week, but with a 12-point cushion, it is inevitable.
If Napoli doesn't win, and Inter wins, Inter could still be champions if AC Milan drops points against Juventus also on Sunday, at 20:45 CEST, 19:45 BST. AC Milan has closely chased Inter in the league, but a recent streak of defeats against Napoli, Udinese and Hellas Verona opened a huge gap against their neighbours.
Last year, Inter Milan lost the league title by one point to Napoli, in a heart-breaking end of season where they also got battered by PSG in the Champions League final. This year, it seems that they will win their 21st league title.
