Two trains collide north of Copenhagen, leaving 5 critically injured

The collision happened on the yellow and grey lines, 40 km north of Copenhagen.

Five people are in critical condition, and at least 17 people got injured, in a train collision at around 6:30 AM CEST in north of Copenhagen on Thursday morning, between two local trains from yellow and grey lines linking Hillerod and Kagerup. It happened around 40 km, 25 miles north of the Danish capital.

Fire and rescue service leader Christoffer Buhl Martekilde said that the trains collided head-on "causing large damage to them and sending broken glass flying ​everywhere". Rescue services described the scenes inside the trains as chaotic, and that it's early to say that caused the accident.

17 people got injured from the 38 people who are believes were inside the two trains. Nobody is trapped and all injured people have been evacuated from the scene, according to Reuters.
