Pokémon Pokopia and Ikea launches a collaboration

The Swedish furniture company Ikea and Nintendo has worked together before, most famously with Animal Crossing, and now they're at it again.

April 1st was probably a pretty questionable day to announce this, but Nintendo and Ikea, who has collaborated before, will do so again. This time, it's centred around Pokémon Pokopia, where sections dedicated to the games will open in select stores where you'll be able to eat Pokopia food, collect stamps, and more.

The catch is that, as usual, we in the West won't get to take part in all the fun. This is intended strictly for Japan. Fortunately, we won't be left completely out in the cold because Ikea has also designed its own Pokopia island (called Ikea Island), which will be unveiled in more detail tomorrow. There, we'll be able to check out "special rooms designed by Ikea's interior architects, inspired by Pikachu and Snorlax", something that hopefully guarantees straight-drilled shelves and properly assembled bed frames.

You can read more about the collaboration on the Japanese website, which you can find here.
