Today's the one day a year where you really cannot trust anything you read on the internet. You shouldn't really trust everything you see online anyway, but on April Fool's even official accounts go wild with baiting fans and creating stories that would never ever turn out to be true. After so long without a Nier game, though, fans wanted to believe in an announcement that seemed to be giving us a new title.
The official Nier social media page teased a reveal for a Nier Cosmic Horror title, something that definitely doesn't sound real as soon as you think about it, but still gave some fans false hope. The Nier page then went and explained to fans that this was indeed meant for April Fool's and that the announcement "caused quite a stir."

So no, you're not getting 2B versus Cthulhu anytime soon, but it does seem like we're overdue a new Nier game. At least for now, there are still the old games to play, which are on sale in a bundle on the PlayStation Store right now.
