Medvedev warns WORLD WAR III "will undoubtedly begin" if Trump continues "insane course"

Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev has warned that a third world war would "undoubtedly begin" if US president Donald Trump continues what he described as an "insane course of criminally changing political regimes."

In an interview with the Russian state news agency Tass (via Anadolu Ajansı), Medvedev (now deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council) characterised Washington's actions as a war aimed at preserving global dominance. "Any event could be the trigger," he said, arguing that escalating US policy toward Iran risks a wider global confrontation.

Medvedev said Trump had made a "grave mistake" by attacking Iran and warned that Tehran would now pursue nuclear weapons "with redoubled energy" following the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He suggested that the conflict had increased the vulnerability of US and Israeli officials and placed Americans at greater risk.

The former president, who led Russia from 2008 to 2012, also claimed that Washington fears Moscow and understands the consequences of nuclear war. In stark language, he warned that if such a conflict were to occur, "Hiroshima and Nagasaki would be child's play."

Medvedev further criticised European governments for backing US and Israeli actions and cautioned that Russia could be drawn into disadvantageous negotiations over Ukraine if the West uses talks to buy time for Kyiv to rearm...
