Arsenal and Manchester City keep up the Premier League chase, Manchester United reaches top 3

The race for the Premier League continues to be open but Arsenal remains at the top, after a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday, with all three goals from corner kick. In fact, Arsenal has now equalled the record of more goals from corners in a season, 16, and they have nine more games to go.

Arsenal's dependency of corner goals is praised by some for the tactical work in set-pieces and criticised by others for being "boring" football, but the truth is that it is working for the Gunners, which sit five points ahead of Manchester City (having played one more match). Manchester City could potentially be two points behind, so the pressure is high, but City did their homework and beat Leeds United away, 1-0 on Saturday, enough to keep up the pace.

However, Aston Villa's shocking 2-0 defeat to Wolves, the worst team in the league, on Friday, reaffirms Manchester United as a true contender for playing Champions League next season, and now sit third in the league with the same points as Villa but better goal average, after a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
