For Tomb Raider: Catalyst releasing next year and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis dropping this year, we'll have a new Lara Croft actress. Camilla Luddington is being replaced by Mass Effect and Vermintide star Alix Wilton Regan, who has been doing some thorough research for her role.

"I like the idea of 'no Lara is left behind,'" Regan explained on the Press X to Continue podcast. "I've looked at all of the performances. Obviously, I've got all the scripts, so I know where it's going, and, you know, I think all of the Lara's that have previously come before will also be informing as we move into a new era of Tomb Raider."

Regan also has a lot of confidence in the new version of Lara we'll be seeing in the upcoming games. "Wherever you fall, whether it's the original, the remasters, the classics, the Survivor trilogy, wherever on that spectrum... you are going to love it," she said.

As well as the two upcoming Tomb Raider games, we've also got another new Lara debuting soon, as Sophie Turner will take the character into live-action once more, in Amazon's TV series. If all of these projects hit the mark, we could be in for a full Tomb Raider renaissance.
