A recent survey conducted by developer PopCap Games has revealed a more tender side to the average British male.
The survey is part of a competition to win a Bejeweled theme ring worth £5,000. The competition is looking for the most romantic things that ladies have done for their men. And with February 29 approaching, there has never been a better time for women to think about popcap-ing the question.
Whilst this survey has very little to do with gaming, it still makes for interesting reading. With 44% of men amenable to the idea of being proposed to this year, that still means 56% of men will be looking nervously over their shoulders this Valentine's Day and February 29.
Here are the results of the survey:
"44% of British men would say ‘yes' if their girlfriend proposed.
Only 31% of women think their boyfriend would say ‘Yes'.
27% of men think that the "man must propose" tradition is outdated; 39% of people aged 55 and over felt it was outdated - compared with only 9% of 18 to 24 year olds.
10% of Britons know a woman who is planning to propose this year.
47% of Britons don't think the man should have to buy a ring if the woman proposes.
16% of British men think sex is a suitable alternative to a ring if the woman proposes.
Almost half (44%) of men in the U.K. would say ‘Yes' if their partners proposed marriage this Leap Year, and 36% of them would like to be asked.
18% of men said they'd probably throw-up on the spot!"
