Liverpool's crisis came to, at least, a short break, after Liverpool defeated West Ham United 2-0 on Sunday. And it was a very meaningful victory for the team, as it marked the first league goal by Alexander Isak this season, after six matches.
The Swedish striker who joined last summer after a record £125m transfer from Newcastle, but had failed to live up to the expectations. The team managed by Arne Slot (who dropped Mohamed Salah from the starting line up for the first time since April 2024) and still has much to do to compensate following the run of nine defeats in 12 games, their worst since 1954 for Liverpool.
Isak finally breached the net for Liverpool in the Premier League and helped their team win against West Ham, ranked 17th in the league. Only a few hours earlier, the East London club announced the death of one of their legends, Billy Bonds, and tributes were made before the match.
