The GAME Group has confirmed that they are losing 46 staff from their Basingstoke HQ.
The restructuring is, according to a report from MCV, intended to allow GAME to "respond to the current video games market".
A spokesperson from the company said: "The proposed restructure will result in around 46 fewer roles at our central support centre in Basingstoke. Our proposed new structure will change the way that we operate and will enable us to be significantly more efficient in our relationships with suppliers and customers."
"We are giving our full help and support to the colleagues who are affected by these proposed changes."
The company recently predicted an £18 million loss for the financial year; but a new financing arrangement offers renewed hope for the future of the once mighty high street retailer. Read more on that story here.
