EU plans maritime security hub for Black Sea

Brussels moves to strengthen maritime monitoring capabilities in a region fraught with geopolitical risks.

The latest news on the European Union. We now know that the European Commission has proposed on Wednesday the creation of a maritime security hub to coordinate surveillance efforts in the Black Sea, an EU document says here.

The initiative, which would involve EU and regional partners, aims to strengthen real-time awareness of critical infrastructure, including underwater cables and offshore energy assets. A move that reflects the growing concern over the conflict's regional impact.
