For the fourth straight month the US NPD figures came in lower than in 2008 and for June the decline was a whopping 38 per cent (biggest decline since September 2000 apparentely). Despite this there were still some winners to be found with Prototype on Xbox 360 taking the top spot (sold a total of 600,000 units across PS3 and Xbox 360). In second place UFC 2009: Undisputed showed a good pair of legs, while Fight Night had a strong first month further down the chart. Nintendo DS sees continued strong hardware sales, while the rest of the pack are well behind. The slow down of Nintendo Wii has been significant in the last few months, however it should be noted the sales are still very healthy.

Another interesting note is that June 2009 marks the first time Wii Play did not chart in the top ten since it launched. A mind blowing 29 straight months in the top ten. Let's see if it can crawl back up there in July.
