Microsoft has announced From Dust as the highest grossing game on Xbox Live Arcade in 2011. The game was downloaded 308,000 times and made a cool £2.9 million in the process.
The most downloaded game was Full House Poker, with an estimated 375,000 units sold (or £2.3 million).
Once again it was Xbox's Summer of Arcade that provided a majority of the bestselling games of the year, with seven of the top ten coming from that promotion.
Castle Crashers continues to prove popular. It has now sold over 2 million copies and is, according to analysts FADE (Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment); "the best selling and highest grossing title in downloadable console gaming history."
Fruit Ninja was the highest selling Kinect game, and RPGs had a good year on XBLA, with Bastion, Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale and Torchlight all making the top ten.
