Danish movie director Lars von Trier is not one to shy away from the darkness in man's soul and his next movie Antichrist will feature "the graphic death of a child to close-ups of vaginal insertion and genital mutilation". (Good thing it's not in 3D, huh?) There is also a game based on the movie in the makings with von Trier's production company Zentropa in charge.
MTV Multiplayer had a chat with the game director, Morten Iversen, who is best known for his work on the Hitman series at IO Interactive and most recently saw his own company Zeitguyz go under as their steampunk epos Recoil: Retrograd failed to get picked up.
"Von Trier has been extremely fond of video games for ages, and has been an avid player of ‘Alone in the Dark. He's been circulating the idea internally...that making games would be a good idea."
"[The movie] goes against all the conventions of how you make games and what you can do in games. Dead kids, nudity, graphic violence. It will be a very controversial game, and it'll be a game that doesn't really compare with anything else."
Eden will be a downloadable game and Iversen explains that there will be different versions of the game to insure that it comes to market in countries where age ratings and the likes are harsher.
