Swedish game developer and publisher Stillfront Group has announced the acquisition of a 29% stake of growing developer EPOS Games Studios (Entertainment Products of Sweden). Stillfront also revealed they have an agreement in place to potentially increase ownership to 51% in the future.

EPOS already has original IP Crash Commando (PSN) in their locker, and with more titles in development, they look to be going places. The studio was founded by Staffan Langin and Olof Gustafsson, who also founded DICE (developers of titles like Mirror's Edge and Battelfield 3), so although EPOS is a relatively new company, they have a strong pedigree.

EPOS founder Staffan Langin said: "‘We are excited to join Stillfront Group and be part of a bigger family. It has been our goal to develop a variety of titles for multiple platforms. Together we and Stillfront Group will be able to realize a much higher potential due to our unique combination and strengths of a strong and profitable IP and several high value distribution channels and platforms."

CEO & Founder of Stillfront Group Jörgen Larsson added: "We are delighted to have EPOS Game Studios on board, they will be a great asset and value-add to Stillfront Group. Together we can create a tremendous opportunities with our joint experience in the industry to develop and publish more great games. We are looking forward to working with Staffan and his team."
