DC's Blue Beetle movie was expected to be a major flop before release. Some had even tracked the movie to earn around $50 million in its entire run. However, now we've seen that it actually has managed to pull out a much better opening weekend than anticipated.
Worldwide, the movie has made $43.4 million. On a budget of over $100 million, there's still going to be some more tickets sold before we can consider this one as breaking even, but still it's better than expected.
For the first time since it released, Barbie had its place at the top spot of the US domestic taken as well. Perhaps word of mouth and the good reviews for Blue Beetle can get more people in cinemas, but we'll have to wait and see.
