Warner Bros. has decided to push the release date of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom up by five days to the 20th of December 2023.

The film has been subject to multiple delays and was meant to hit theatres on Christmas Day last year. At least with this new release date it seems the delays are over, and you won't have to sit in a theatre on Christmas Day 2023 thanks to the movie's launch being brought up by five days.

There's a lot of anticipation around Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as it is one of the last films to bring the dying DCEU to its close before James Gunn and Peter Safran's vision takes over. There are some concerns that this could be Jason Mamoa's last stint as Aquaman, but the actor has previously said he is good friends with James Gunn and believes he'll be sticking around.

Aquaman's release date now pushes it within a week of another Warner Bros. movie in Wonka, which is scheduled to release on the 15th of December. We'll have to wait and see if these two films clash or if both of their box office numbers remain strong over the Christmas period.

Thanks, Collider.
