Yesterday, Microsoft announced Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, with a release planned for this fall. Today we know more details about the development of these two versions of new Forza title.

According to the Forza Motorsport official Twitter account, the Xbox 360 version of the game will be built by Sumo Digital (Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Virtua Tennis 2009), using the same Horizon 1 engine, and the Xbox One edition will be developed by Playground Games, on the Forza 5 engine:

"X1 version of Horizon 2 is built on the Forza 5 engine, led by Playground. X360 version is built on Horizon 1 engine, led by Sumo Digital".

Forza Horizon 2 will take place in Southern Europe, and it will include hundreds of cars, as 2015 Lamborghini Huracán. We're expecting to know more about the game during Microsoft's E3 conference.

Update - You can also see some new screens for the game below, showing of different weather conditions - something that was missing from Forza Motorsport 5 but that looks like it'll be making a comeback here (via Videogamer).
