During the Cowen and Company analyst conference where it was also confirmed that Red Dead was a "permanent franchise", Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that another beloved franchise would continue to be explored by the publisher.

"We think [BioShock is] important and certainly something that we're focused on; something 2K Marin will be responsible for shepherding going forward," said Zelnick (via DualShockers).

"I think there's a lot of upside in that franchise. It hasn't necessarily been realized yet. And the question for the future, assuming we decide to answer the question, would be ‘How do you stay true to that creatively?'"

Irrational Games, the studio that created the first Bioshock and then Bioshock Infinite (Bioshock 2 was handled by new custodians - or should that be shepherds - 2K Marin), was disbanded by Ken Levine earlier this year, leading some to wonder what might come of the series created by the studio. Well, now we know.
