Halo fans will be getting all their HD updated Christmases at once it would seem, with the news emerging that Microsoft are planning on releasing Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a HD update of the first four numbered Halo games (Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4 - likely not, according to the report, Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST).
Sources close to Engadget are saying that Microsoft are planning on releasing the HD collection before Halo 5: Guardians (which was confirmed as heading out next year just last week), so later this year. There's no word on who's handling development of the rumoured HD update, but seeing as Sabre Interactive handled the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary update, and given that they're working on an unannounced Xbox One project, it could well be that they're handling this comprehensive HD collection.
It was originally thought that this year's Halo-themed release would be Halo 2: Anniversary, but, by the looks of it, we're going to be getting a whole load more Master Chief before the end of the year than we first thought.
