Sunset Overdrive is looking good ahead of its planned launch on Xbox One at the end of the year, with Insomniac creating a vibrant world that looks like it'll be a hoot to explore. One thing we won't be doing in the game - and despite the word "drive" being in the title - is driving cars around the world.
"No you cannot drive cars in Sunset Overdrive, mainly because you are the only vehicle you need. All these other cars, they would just slow you down," community manager Brandon Winfrey told Examiner.
"One thing we really wanted to do in Sunset Overdrive is make the traversal as active as possible. So what we did is we built the city in a way that the fastest way to get places was actually combining your movement options."
Winfrey continued: "This city wasn't just built horizontally either, we built it vertically. We want to reward players who utilize this verticality and combo traversal by not only giving them more style meter, but actually getting them places faster [than other people]."
We're expecting to hear more about Sunset Overdrive at E3 next month, but in the meantime, head this way for new screens and a trailer.
