The Assassin's Creed franchise is set up for some big moves in the future. Not only do we have a bunch of games in the works, but there's also a Netflix adaptation of one of Ubisoft's most well-known franchises on the way as well.

Announced in September 2022, it seems things are already going a bit haywire with the adaptation, as its former showrunner Jeb Stuart has announced his departure from the project.

In a new interview with Collider, Stuart said that there was a "move of executives" from LA to London, with the team based in the latter location now inheriting his vision.

"I think it was a little bit of a move of executives from LA to London, and it allowed the London group who, unfortunately, had to inherit my vision of what it was instead of getting to develop their own vision. So I think that's fair. I know it's going to be great whenever it comes out. I think the Ubisoft guys are fantastic. I think it's a terrific franchise. It was just a good, mutual time to move on for both sides."

Stuart still believes the series will be "great" when it comes out, but we have no idea of when that will be. Here's hoping it can be more of an Arcane, and less of a Assassin's Creed (2015) in terms of video game adaptations.
