While a lot of gamers have hyped up FromSoftware's difficult RPGs since Demon's Souls first released, it seemed that with the launch of Elden Ring the acclaimed studio finally broke fully into mainstream.

With sales blowing the previous records of Dark Souls, Sekiro, and Bloodborne out of the water, and critics labelling the game as a generation-defining title, it's no secret a lot of people like Elden Ring. With 2022 having officially closed, though, some fine folk at ResetEra have shown just how appreciative the community is of the game.

According to a list compiling all the Game of the Year awards of 2022, Elden Ring has achieved 324 awards so far, which would make it the game with the most GOTY wins out of any title since they started giving the trophies out.

This beats The Last of Us: Part II, which set the record with 322 awards back in 2020, a feat that many thought was unbeatable. However, Elden Ring has proven again and again that it is the stand-out game of 2022 if there ever was one.
