While both Microsoft and Sony continue to compare their new-gen sales to that of the supply constrained launch of old-gen consoles (PS3, Xbox 360) it's apparent that things aren't quite as peachy as that, especially not for Microsoft. While Microsoft sold a reported 115,000 units of Xbox One for the month (the ancient Xbox 360 sold 71,000 for comparison), and beat the drum about a 2.9 attach ratio it's clear that Titanfall is not pushing hardware the way they'd have liked. The NPD numbers are likely a strong contributing reason for de-bundling Kinect. And while we don't have numbers for PlayStation 4 it's doing considerably better as it did beat Xbox One in April, making it the fourth month in a row with Sony on top. Another quote from NPD that gives us a little more reason to be upbeat: "PS4 software combined with Xbox One software sales are up over 40 percent compared to sales of the PS3 and Xbox 360 through their first six months. Wii U software sales were up over last year by over 80 percent." And overall sales for April were up 17% compared to last year, mainly thanks to PS4 and Titanfall (that saw release on Xbox 360).
According to Sony Titanfall on Xbox One was outsold during the month by Infamous: Second Son making the latter the best selling new-gen game of the month.
