In what will no doubt be pleasing news for Nintendo, their handheld console, the 3DS, broke Enterbrain's sales records. They did so by selling more units in December than every console before it (or at least since Enterbrain started keeping tabs back in 1997).
The report from andriasang also pointed out that the 3DS topped monthly hardware sales for the last seven months.
This is yet another example of how well Nintendo finished 2011, with the company boasting sales of over four million handhelds in the US already this week.
