If you're into Game of Thrones as much as we are, then we've got a double treat for you today. Enterprising fans of the series have brought their favourite fantasy setting to a couple of unexpected new places.
First up here's a link to a trailer made by NicksplosionFX and posted on Youtube, that shows us an excellent crossover between the opening credits from Game of Thrones and the setting of Super Mario World, complete with chiptune musical intro.
Then there's the small matter of this lovingly created Hearthstone deck. One fan of the series has put together a deck of 31 cards, with creator randomnate saying on Reddit: "As a huge Game of Thrones fan who also can't get enough of Hearthstone, I thought it'd be fun to combine the two and model GoT characters as Hearthstone cards."
Game of Thrones has had a mixed time when it comes to videogame adaptations. Cyanide Studios' take on the IP (reviewed here) was lacking, while A Game of Thrones: Genesis was similarly received by the wider community. Telltale's planned episodic series has our interest piqued, but is far from completion.
The best videogame treatment we can think of so far is the Crusader Kings II - Game of Thrones total conversion mod, which allows you take control of the families from the series and guide them through history, albeit a few hundred years before the events that transpire in the books/TV show. Anyway, here's that Hearthstone deck:
