Sega has confirmed an increase in their income and continued success in the digital market in their latest financial report.
Operating income for Sega Sammy increased 102% (¥38.53 billion / $378 million), although net income dropped 8.2% (¥30.72 billion / $302 million). While the consumer side of the business saw a net sales increase (18.6% year on year), software sales actually dropped.
The star performer in the publisher's line up was Total War: Rome II, which despite an eventful launch plague by bugs and technical issues, managed to shift a respectable 1.13 million units. Football Manager 2014 has sold 790k copies to date, while Relic's Company of Heroes 2 has managed 680k copies sold. Sonic Lost World also managed to sell 710k copies.
Digital sales - buoyed by their continued success in the PC space, as well as titles such as Phantasy Star Online 2 - continue to grow while retail sales are slowing down. Still, all told it's been a successful year for the publisher.
