Patrice Désilets, the creator of Assassin's Creed, may well be set to reveal his latest project in the near(ish) future.

Désilets, when questioned by internet sleuth Superannuation, confirmed that he is working on something that he may be able to show in the next few weeks, given that his noncompete is apparently set to expire on Friday.

The aforementioned noncompete clause is in place following the Assassin Creed creators acrimonious departure from Ubisoft. Désilets originally left Ubisoft and set up shop over at THQ and began to work on a new IP - 1666: Amsterdam - before the ill-fated publisher went bust. In a twist of fate, Désilets' IP was then snapped up by his former paymasters and he went back to work for them, for a time at least.

Superannuation asked the developer whether he would "have any interesting news to share in the next few weeks?" To which replied he replied: "Probably yes... at least i'm working on it."

Exactly what happened when Désilets and Ubisoft parted company for the second time remains shrouded in mystery. Whatever happened, the picture will likely become clearer in the weeks ahead. We'll let you know when we've heard more.
