A couple of tweets from leading Epic Games executives Mark Rein and Paul Meegan over the weekend revealed that we'll see the next Unreal Tournament on a livestream hosted by Epic this Thursday.
Paul Meegan wrote:
"UE4 Dev Community + Epic. The future of Unreal Tournament. Tune in to https://www.Twitch.tv/UnrealEngine Thursday at 2pm ET. #unrealdev #FirstBlood"
Mark Rein wrote:
"I love #UnrealTournament - So excited for the comeback! https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=unreal+tournament+multikill+sound ... More next week!"
We haven't seen Unreal Tournament since Unreal Tournament III was released back in 2007. Is this a full on sequel? Is it being developed internally at Epic (Meegan's tweet could be interpreted as something else)? Could it be a remake? Will it be free-to-play?
We'll find out come Thursday at 7:00pm BST on the Unreal Engine Twitch Channel.
