Sony has revised their financial results for the year once again, and the company is this time predicting an overall loss of $1.2 billion after increasing their previous prediction by a staggering $200 million.
The additional loss was, according to GI.biz, down to unforeseen expenses surrounding Sony's exit from the PC market, a move announced earlier this year.
"Sony expects to record write-downs for excess components in inventory and accrual of expenses to compensate suppliers for unused components ordered for Sony's spring PC lineup," said a statement made by the company.
It was also mentioned that ¥25 billion was lost in "impairment charges mainly related to its foreign disc manufacturing business," with the demand for disc-based media shrinking faster than expected.
