New PS4 patch adds logos to captured screens and videos

There is no such thing as complete freedom.

Update 1:It seems not all games carry the watermark. We've pinged Sony querying how the system works, and will update again when we get official confirmation.

Original story: The latest PlayStation 4 Update (1.70) is live and it adds the option of freely moving screens and videos you've captured to a USB drive. However, these will still come with logos and copyright texts, which sort of puts a dampener on the good news. A beautiful screenshot from Child of Light isn't as beautiful with the Ubisoft logo in the corner after all.

We tried it with a few games with varying results of added "ugliness" - as you can see by the Dynasty Warriors screen grab below, Tecmo Koei go for plain text for their screen stamp.

Presumably it's up to the publisher what kind of watermark they want on the screens - and video. Video captured of Child of Light came out with a slightly different style of Ubisoft logo in the bottom right corner.

All of these are direct captures of the game using only in system's Share features. Screenshots come out 1920x1080 and videos 1280x720.
