According to reports, an unknown number of layoffs have hit Sega's London-based European headquarters. The job losses have apparently affected both the Sonic and the mobile teams.
"Sega is in the process of consolidating certain functions of the Sonic and Mobile departments within Sega of America, where the management and production for those areas of the business reside," a spokesperson from Sega told Polygon.
"As part of that strategy a limited number of redundancies have taken effect in our European office, based in London."
Restructures and job losses are an ongoing issue for the company, with Sega Sammy cutting 560 jobs back in 2009, as well as a more recent restructuring in 2012. Let's hope that those affected in this latest move find new positions soon.
