Microsoft has confirmed that they're still thinking about introducing an Xbox 360 emulator for Xbox One, a move that would no doubt be a massive help in making the Xbox One a more attractive console for gamers looking to upgrade.
During Microsoft's Frank Savage's session on Xbox One's use of Windows technology at Microsoft's Build dev conference, a member of the audience asked the following question (quotes via Kotaku):
Audience Member: Are there plans for an Xbox 360 emulator on Xbox One?
Savage: There are, but we're not done thinking them through yet, unfortunately. It turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the X86 stuff. So there's nothing to announce, but I would love to see it myself.
If they could pull it off it'd certainly sway a goodly portion of undecideds when it came to upgrading from old to new-gen consoles. If they're able to find a solution it'll be interesting to see how it manifests itself, and if/how Microsoft decided to monetise it.
