Do you remember Rainbow 6: Patriots? It was announced back 2011, but soon things went quiet and the only real news we've heard about it is that Ubisoft have confirmed it's still being worked on and that it will likely hit the new generation of platforms (PS4/Xbox One).
One of the best "moles" when it comes to video game tidbits on the internet Superannuation tweeted:
"Rumor is that Rainbow 6 Patriots has been redesigned from the ground up three times. Yikes."
The game was originally announced with pre-rendered target footage as Ubisoft feared something from the game would be prematurely leaked and they wanted to pre-empt that. Clearly this backfired given what has since come to pass. If and when this game resurfaces it likely won't have much in common with the game we saw a pre-rendered glimpse of in 2011 - and chances are the name won't be the same either.
