It seems that sales of the Xbox One have spiked recently, and the machine has been the best selling console in the UK for four weeks in a row.

MCV reported the boost in sales, but stressed in their report that PlayStation 4 remains in control in the UK market, and partly attributes the recent increase in Xbox sales to a shortage of PlayStation hardware.

MCV suggests that a fresh batch of PS4 units hitting the market accounted for a 72% rise in sales. They also suggest that Sony are set to release more stock around the same time as Infamous: Second Son.

Xbox One was recently discounted and bundled with a copy of Titanfall for £399.99, and Microsoft appear to be reaping the benefits of that price cut. Whether the console is able to maintain that momentum remains to be seen.
