Pikachu is going to Brazil this summer. That's right the delightfully cheerful yellow Pokémon is Japan's official mascot for the World Cup. This has been confirmed by the official sponsor Adidas and The Pokémon Company via their respective websites.
Most teams don't have mascots as there's typically an official mascot for the whole event, but we'd like to think that Pikachu will kick Fuleco the Armadillo (the official mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil) ass if they ever meet.
