Microsoft has sliced the price of the Xbox One in the UK to £399.99, it has been confirmed today.
The console, which has endured a modest start to life with sales dwarfed by those of their main rival, PlayStation 4, will now be bundled with a copy of the Xbox (and PC) exclusive shooter Titanfall and a month's worth of Xbox Live Gold (and, of course, the Kinect, headset, and wireless controller).
"At Xbox, we believe there's never been a better time to join the new console generation," said Xbox UK's marketing chief Harvey Eagle. "To help our fans do just that, Xbox One will be available at the new UK estimated retail price (ERP) of £399.99 from February 28th. And while supplies last, fans will also get Titanfall - the most anticipated game of the year - included in the box."
Eagle also confirmed that while the price cut would be UK only, the Titanfall part of the promotion was a more widespread affair, and that the Xbox One title would come bundled with consoles in other territories. European gamers will be able to get a console with Titanfall for 499 Euros.
