MCV reports that worldwide PlayStation 4 sales have reached 5.3 million as of February 8. Sony had a target set for 5 million units by March 31, a target they've already surpassed. Given the console is set to launch in Japan later this week, it's entirely possible or perhaps even likely that PS4 will have surpassed the Wii U by the end of the month (Wii U had shipped 5.86 million as of January 28). The latest figures from Microsoft put Xbox One at 3 million sold through (3.9 million shipped).
