Pete Dodds (known as atfamousmortimer on Twitter), has once again let out an "industry bomb". This time he reported that Microsoft are in talks with Amazon about them buying the Xbox division. He then deleted his tweets, but later reaffirmed that this was an industry rumour that had been circling.
"If you feel misled by me I apologize. The amazon/MS thing is a rumor circling the industry. Not fact, rumor. I shared it. I didnt invent it"

Of course, the fact that they been in talks since before the Xbox One reveal is a wrinkle to the story that makes it sound strange. Have Amazon been developing a console in parallel with talking to Microsoft about buying Xbox? While it is true that the Xbox division is a low profit margin endeavour for Microsoft, Xbox One has also been at the core of their livingroom strategy. It would be a surprise if they're seriously considering dumping the business.
