Sony last night confirmed via a Tweet that they're planning on releasing more than 100 games on PlayStation 4 in this calendar year.

"Here's a fun fact: More than 100 PS4 games are planned for release in 2014. Stay tuned for more updates from today's media summit," revealed the post.

The media summit in question also revealed some interesting facts. As reported by IGN, the the three best selling games on the platform are (unsurprisingly) Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and FIFA 14.

Marketing VP John Koller added: "this is a story of engagement... When demand outstrips supply, the promise of what's to come is really critical."

The number of consoles sold so far was also repeated (it's 4.2 million, if you haven't heard), along with some engagement related facts. PS4 gamers spend an average of 34 million hours a week on their consoles, rising to 50 million hours when considering entertainment features.

On top of that Sony also revealed that 90% of consoles are connected to the internet, gameplay and screens have been shared 48 million times, and PS Plus subscriptions are up 90% since the console's launch.
