Popular survival sim, Rust, is now without zombies as the developers pulled them in the latest update, in essence, it's no longer a zombie survival game.
According to the post, the zombies have been replaced by red bears and wolves, although it's not a permanent change and something else will be taking their place in the future, though what that is we're not sure just yet. Apparently "all will be revvvealed" at a future time.
"Yep. We did it," explained the latest blog update. "We decided we couldn't hold off any longer. The longer we keep zombies in - the more complaints we'd get about removing them. We are forcing ourselves to deal with it. We are no longer a zombie survival game! They've been replaced with red bears and wolves. You hate them. We know. They're just plugging a gap for now. All will be revvvealed."
Rust is survival game, in the same vein as DayZ (except for less zombies now), where players craft and build bases to defend themselves from each other, and work together to overcome adversity. It's currently in Early Access on Steam.
