We first told you about Eve: Valkyrie when it was called EVE-VR (you can read our preview here), and we were excited about it then even though it was, at that stage, just a proof of concept demo.
Now we're pleased to hear that the game, which was originally not attached to any platform, is being released alongside the Oculus Rift VR headset. Eve: Valkyrie is set to be a launch title for the headset, after a partnership was announced between CCP and Oculus to co-publish the game.
"We strongly believe the best VR experiences are going to be the ones built from the ground up for VR, and we've kept that in mind whilst developing Valkyrie. We wanted people to really feel like they were there - to sense the vastness of space, feel the confined area of the cockpit and get that adrenaline rush as you see an exploding fighter whizz past your head," said senior producer Sigurður Gunnarsson.
There's still no official word on when we'll get our hands on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, but it's nice to know that there's already launch titles being lined up for us to play when it finally makes it to market.
