Channel 4 have appointed Colin Macdonald as their new Commissioning Editor.

Macdonald will work with studios to develop games that tie in with the TV companies broadcasting activities.

Channel 4 has already funded several games, most notably the indie title Privates, which was recently recognised at the Children's BAFTAs.

Macdonald is an industry veteran and has, according to Gamasutra, been responsible for publishing games from franchises such as Lemmings and Prince of Persia. He also had a hand in the Grand Theft Auto series and founded Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds.
