Windforge heading to Steam
Fresh from being cleared through the Greenlight process and being funded on Kickstarter, Snowed In Studios has just announced that Windforge is coming to Steam in a few weeks. The game is already available to buy direct from the developer, and will be on sale on Steam from March 11.
"We had a difficult choice to make, to keep working on the game with the help of the WindForge community or to shorten production and launch the game in the fall. Running the campaign takes time and resources and we were not sure what was the right thing to do, given the statistics on how many Kickstarters fail," said Snowed In Studios' Jean-Sylvain Sormany. "We literally did not know if we made the right decision or not until the very last minute. We met our goal with only 62 seconds on the clock, so it was pretty tight!"
Windforge puts players in command of building their own airships and exploring their way around hostile airspace. There's a creative element that rungs alongside the shooting, and it's well worth keeping an eye on.
