In a rather novel promotion, indie developer Jason Rohrer has challenged players with stealing in-game money in The Castle Doctrine, and in exchange they'll be rewarded with real money.
A game-wide bounty of $3000 USD is up for grabs, with that amount being divided up between all players based on how what percentage of the in-game currency each player has when the promotion ends.
In addition the players with the top eight houses will get a real painting, as well as - bizarrely - real security deterrents.
The Castle Doctrine tasks players with defending their home from intruders, as well as breaking into other's homes and stealing their belongings. It's currently in alpha, but will be launching on Steam on January 29. For more details on the promotion, or the grab the alpha and start stealing stuff, head here.
