In an interview with Edge Klei Entertainment's Corey Rollins confirmed that Don't Starve had well over a million players before the end of 2013. Note that this is well before the game launched on PS4 and was free with your PS Plus subscription.
Rollins also said they are looking into porting the game to PS Vita and mobile, but stopped short of confirming these possible ports.
