It's looking like Valve are going to ditch the Steam Greenlight process, as the company seeks to put more control in the hands of developers.
The news comes from Valve CEO Gabe Newell's introductory address at the developer-only Steam Dev Days event. In attendance is Hot Blooded Games CFO Dave Oshry, who was on Twitter updating the masses.
"Our goal is to make Greenlight go away," Newell said (according to Oshry). "Not because it's not useful, but because we're evolving."
There was also plenty of talk about Valve's other recent innovation, Early Access. According to Oshry, Newell said the company were "blown away" by the response to Early Access, from both gamers and developers, and apparently 1 in 10 games launched on Steam last year adopted this new model.
