Sony has announced a beta program for PS Now in the United States that will precede the official launch of the recently announced streaming service.

The service is due to roll out in the summer, but a press release from Sony reveals that the beta will kick off sometime this month for PS3, in certain regions in the US.

PS Now is currently on display at this year's CES in Las Vegas. There players can try out the service on several games, including Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us. When it rolls out it'll initially be on PS3 and PlayStation 4, before opening up to include PS Vita. Following that Sony's range of Bravia TVs (2014 models) will also support the streaming service, followed eventually by other internet-connected devices.

Of course there's still no word when PS Now will reach these shores...
